High Blood Pressure/Hypertension
Blood pressure is the force it takes to pump blood through your veins. It is measured when the heart beats and when the heart is at rest. (Systolic and Diastolic) High blood pressure is something that can affect any person at any age of their life. It has proven to play more of a problem among those people that are over the age of 35 years, Black Americans,those woman taking birth control pills,people who are overweight and also those that are smokers. High blood pressure is also called hypertension and has no symptoms which is why so many people have strokes and heart attacks. The only way to be sure if you have high blood pressure is to have an examination. This is why it is called the silent killer. If you are in one of the above high risk groups then you should have an examination often. |
