Made In America; A Dead Issue?

My eyes see milk at over $4.00 a gallon.
My eyes see gas at over $3.25 a gallon.
My eyes see my sister in law who had an infection and twenty pills cost $1,800.00
My eyes see my home insurance in Florida increase 100% overnight and I never filed a claim.
My eyes see all the manufacturing jobs go over seas.
My eyes see all the phone centers go over seas.
My eyes see a foreign nation building American military airplanes.
My eyes see all the homes for sale and not selling or in foreclosure.
My eyes see minimum wage at $5.85 per hour.
My eyes see a national debt that is incomprehensible.
My eyes see social security bankrupt.

My ears hear a government tell me we have a robust economy.
My ears hear radio talk shows tell me what a great job Bush is doing.
My ears hear the Democratic Presidential candidates promise me things I will never receive.
My ears hear the news reports tell me all the countries hate America.
My ears hear how much foreign aid we give to other nations.
My ears hear how our road infra structure is collapsing.
My ears how about all the wonderful things we are building in Iraq for those needy people.

My hands can't find products that are made in America.
My hands pump gas that supports those nations that want me dead.
My hands have trouble finding a product that is not made in China.

I work hours on end each and every week to make sure I have enough money after I pay my taxes to live. Last week after I paid my taxes and my health insurance and my mortgage and my property insurance I had barely any money left. We skipped the groceries this week because we still have some left in the cupboard and we can get by for now. Thank goodness there were no illnesses because I can't afford to pay the deductible for the health insurance.

But it really feels good to be an American because I take great comfort in knowing that my money is supporting all of the earmarks the politicians create for their pet projects. I feel really good knowing that Iraq is getting a brand new infra structure. I am really happy to know the United States can't drill for oil because we may mess up the environment. I am comforted by the fact that China has a booming economy and their military is getting stronger each and every day. I really take comfort in the fact that as China increases their economy/military they do not worry about that green house gas thing.

Oh how great it is to be an American and know that those people in the Middle East have the billions of American dollars we sent to them. It is truly a comfort to know that those who hate me are taken care of with my money.

As I go to sleep tonight I take joy and comfort in the wisdom of our politicians who have allowed all of this to happen. Since this is only May it is comforting to know that in only two months all of my taxes for this year will soon be paid. Soon I will be able to sleep well knowing my retirement is being prepared for me and my home is secure and the defense of my nation is solid.

Yup!
Sure gotta thank our politicians.
