The Biggest Loser: A TV Show Review

The Biggest Loser is a reality based television series with a group of people trying to lose the most body fat in a five month period. The basic premise of the show is that every week all of the players attempt to lose as much body fat as possible. After a week all of the players get on a scale and weigh in until the two persons with the least amount of weight lost are determined. After a short period of time the players vote out one of the two players who weighed in and lost the least amount of weight. When the vote is over one of the two are then sent home. This continues until ultimately one person is left and wins $250,000.

What is good about the show is that it can motivate a person to lose weight. What is bad about the show is that a person may not actually realize you can't lose 144 pounds in an hour or two while sitting on the couch. If you watch the show you will learn the contestants are secluded at a ranch and have personal trainers and exercise six hours EVERY day.

Although the show is very entertaining it can lead a person think that they too can lose 17 pounds in a week. The sad part is that yes, it is possible but you must get off the couch to lose the weight. Also an actual person has to go to work and live in a real world and cannot afford a personal trainer.

All in all the show is very good and offers tremendous information as long as the viewer will get off the couch and do the work.
