The Holy Grail of Weight Loss is what every quick fix dieter is looking for. One day a person wakes up and decides that they want to lose some weight and start doing a bit of exercise and spend some time walking or jogging. The average person dieting spends much time thinking about the calories they are eating and what foods they will deprive themselves from to lose weight. A typical person searching for the Holy Grail of Weightloss equates losing weight with a start date and an end date that is triggered by a number of pounds that are lost. This search for the Holy Grail is the beginning of another diet failure for the average person attempting to loose weight. It is similar to a popular movie where the foolish man drinks from the wrong chalice and is destroyed. The False Theories of the Holy Grail of Weight Loss There are many myths of weight loss that the soon to be frustrated dieter succumbs to in their efforts to lose weight. A quick list of weight loss mistakes is as follows. Diet Pills; A total waste of money! There is not one diet pill on the market that works. If you doubt that statement then you can waste your money on many websites. For those of you with any desire for truth we want you to look at the total logic of the statement that diet pills do not work. Obesity in the United States and many other nations is a fact. People worldwide are struggling to lose weight. If a diet pill hit the market the creator of that pill would quickly become the wealthiest person in the world. The news would be on every news channel and the topic of every talk show. Trust us, there is not diet or weightloss pill in the world that is worth the money. Spot Reducing Is A Joke; If you want to lose weight in your belly you can't target that area alone. If you want to lose weight in your thighs you can't target that area alone. If you want a smaller butt, you can't target that area alone. The thought that you can get six pack abs by doing a few (or alot) sit-ups or crunches you are once again giving yourself false hope and setting yourself up for failure. The reason once again must give way to logic. The human body has the muscle attached to the skeletal section of your body. The fat you desire to shed is attached to the top, or the outside of the fat. You cannot see the muscle as long as the muscle is hidden behind the fat. If you want to tone up that is great but you must learn that for a human to lose weight it must be done in a fashion similar to an unlit candle melting in the hot sun. The candle will melt and the wax will go away all over and not just in one spot. Spot reduction is a myth, accept no other theory. The Actual Holy Grail of Weight Loss If you want to lose weight then great! We here at I Choose Thin want you to be healthy. We want you to skip the diet and start a "live-it". We want you to be able to go shopping and be giddy by the fact that you dropped a couple of sizes. We want you to need smaller jeans and we want you to know that you do not need to buy ANYTHING!!!!!! If you really want to lose the weight then here is the simple and plain truth. Losing weight begins in the mind long before the fat vanishes from your waistline. If you are overweight then you and only you can drop the weight. You and only you can make the conscious decision of what does or what does not go in your mouth. If you want to lose the weight then you will have to make it happen. Time Is On Your Side; Losing weight is not something that is a race. You did not get fat over the period of a month and it will take longer than a month to lose those 100 pounds. If you set a date there is only one question we ask you....WHY? Who are you in competition with? You need to be in the weightloss arena for yourself. You need to shed the pounds not to please the husband; you need to lose the weight so you can enjoy the healthy lifestyle you deserve. Losing weight is not a competition it is a lifestyle, it is a choice. You need to skip the idea that if you skip the soda for two months you will lose weight. You need to stop trying to squeeze into that dress for the wedding or that cruise. If you want to lose weight you need to do it because you want to be healthy. If you plan to skip the diet and start to do the things you know are healthy, you will become healthy. If you get healthy you will lose weight. If you lose weight because you are healthy you will keep the weight off unlike a diet. Even if a diet is a success and you lose those 100 pounds, what then? You go back to the old habits and gain it all back again? Skip the diet and start a "live-it". A "live-it" is for life, a diet is for weight loss failure stories, which we all have too many stories to testify as having experienced. Exercise Is A Must; Anything you do that gets you up and moving is better than doing nothing. Park further from Wal-Mart so you have to walk more. Get a dog that wakes you up daily and insists on that daily walk. Find a friend and pair up. THE HOLY GRAIL of WEIGHTLOSS is quite simple to explain but too many do not want to hear it and look for the diet pills or the tummy gizmos. If you want to lose the weight the concept is simple. You need to burn off more calories than you eat. There it is! The dirty million dollar secret has been thrown out into the light of day. If you want to lose weight you need to eat less calories than you burn in the course of your life. The comparison is similar to being a Christian. Christianity at its core belief is simple. It is only when we throw all the "junk" into the equation does Christianity get complicated. The Holy Grail of Weightloss is so similar. The concept to lose weight is based on the simple fact that if you want to lose weight then you need to eat less calories than you burn off. There you have it. You have been saved. Now go forth into the world and gain the knowledge you need to make it a reality in your life. Go forth and gain the knowledge needed to be able to save yourself. Just be careful that you only gather the truth and do not allow false doctrine into your attempt. |
